Located in central Tampere, on the corner of Hämeenpuisto and Pirkankatu streets, the main Metso library is easy to reach by foot, bicycle or public transport. Accessible entry is provided as well. Chargeable parking is available next to the library on Mustanlahdenkatu street. There is a ramp from the parking area to the main entrance of the library for users with mobility difficulties. The library provides services on three floors. The collections, library computers and information services are located on the main and first floors. The library's meeting rooms and museum premises are located on the ground floor. The main floor hosts the customer services department, the Olotila reading and working area, the children's and youth department, inter-library loan services, the reading room and the Pirkanmaa collection. The library janitors' service point is located in the main entrance hall. The first floor contains the music department, exhibition space, the Pietilä room, the Martikainen room, the meeting room and the Metso library cafe. The ground floor has a separate entrance on Hämeenkatu street and contains the library computer class room (lecture room 5), lecture room 4 and the Toivonen room. The Moominvalley shop is also located on the ground floor.
